Q. Will I be charged if I ring Carl Edwards to get initial information about my legal matter?

A. No. Carl is happy to have an initial discussion over the phone free of charge. If it becomes clear that you will require the services of a lawyer; a face to face appointment at a time that is convenient to you will then be organised.

Q. How do I know whether I will actually need a lawyer for my particular case?

A. Carl is always prepared to have an initial discussion over the phone free of charge. If yours is a situation where Carl believes the cost of having a lawyer outweighs the benefit that might be gained, he will tell you that upfront. There are also some straight forward cases where there is information available to help a person “do-it-yourself” and Carl is happy to point you in the right direction rather than simply treat you as a money making opportunity.

Q. Will I have to start paying as soon as I take a seat in Carl Edward’s office?

A. No. Carl is always happy to discuss matters with you initially, find out exactly what the issues are and then give you a quote for the job. Carl is focused on a fast, cost effective outcome for your case rather than stringing things out at an hourly rate.

Q. Do I have to pay fees all at once on an “up front” basis before Carl Edwards will take on my case?

A. No. Carl is aware that most of us are on a tight budget these days so he is prepared to enter into an arrangement that suits you. This might include a time payment system. All of these matters will be discussed with you at the beginning and there will not be any “nasty surprises”.

Q. Will I have to take time off work to go to an appointment to see Carl Edwards?

A. No. Wherever possible, Carl will do his best to make sure that you don’t have the extra cost of having to take time off work to get to an appointment with him. If this means appointments in the late afternoon or early in the morning, Carl is prepared to be flexible and accommodate your work schedule. There are also occasions where Saturday morning or Saturday afternoon appointments can be arranged.
